Devlog #1 – Basic Movement

This weeks devlog includes a basic movement setup using Unreal Engine’s default third person blueprint. In addition we added custom animations and knight character. This whole session was understanding how the third person blueprint works, at least the most important parts.

One of the biggest challenges this session was understanding animation retargeting. From the docs:

Animation Retargeting is the process of repurposing existing animations for use between multiple characters, eliminating the need to create entirely new animations as you can instead share your animation assets between characters.
